The highest priced weanling sold at the Turangga Farm Dispersal on Sunday was a filly by Your Song from Space Odyssey that made $125,000 when secured by James Bester Bloodstock.

The fourth foal of an unraced Stratum sibling to Group winners Sanziro and Flying Object from Group III winner Will Fly, the filly is likely to be re-offered at one of the major yearling sales next year.

“She was a standout weanling and as good as anything that I bought at the Gold Coast. She has a great head, an extraordinary physique with a massive hindquarter and is a filly with a lot of power,” James Bester told ANZ Bloodstock News.

“Your Song we believe is on the verge of taking that next step (as a stallion) and sons of Fastnet Rock have all proven to be successful in their first crop. I am talking about Foxwedge and Smart Missile, and they have all taken the next step in their second season and I would expect Your Song to do the same thing.”

With 10 two year-old winners this season, Your Song is the leading first crop sire by winners.
