Widden Stud’s reigning champion sire Zoustar had just one colt sell on the opening day of Magic Millions on Tuesday with Torryburn Stud well rewarded for the first living foal of Centimental that sold for $825,000.

Bred and retained to race by Torryburn, Centimental won four races and was Group III placed at two and the daughter of Snitzel has delivered the goods again with this handsome colt that was purchased by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/David Redvers Bloodstock.

“We’re really happy. He has very low hocks, looks like he’ll go quick and more importantly he was Sheikh Fahad’s (Al Thani of Qatar Racing) favourite horse that he inspected here on the complex,” said Maher Bloodstock Manager Will Bourne.

“We were very much happy to go with him and pretty excited to get him for Ciaron.”

Sheikh Fahad is in the ownership of Zoustar, who shuttled to his Tweenhills Stud in the UK at the start of his stud career.

“He (the Sheikh) obviously knows the breed well,” Bourne added.

“I thought he was about the right money. I wouldn’t have been surprised if he ticked over $1 million, but happy to get him for what we did.”
