$850,000 Trapeze Artist Colt and Written By Super Popular at Magic Millions
Magic Millions Book 1 produced sensational results for our young gun sires with Trapeze Artist having 27 yearlings sell at an average $263,519, while Written By had 17 average $214,706.
Trapeze Artist saved the best to last with his highlight horse coming on the final night of the sale with a colt from Cocoa Doll making $850,000 for Mill Park Stud when snapped up by Phillip Stokes Racing.
Phillip Stokes trains his winning half-brother Brazen Boy and also trained his mother Cocoa Doll, so he knows the family well and it’s a good one as Cocoa Doll is a half-sister to $3million earner and MM 2YO Classic winner Away Game.
Cocoa Doll was back at Widden last spring to be covered by Zoustar.
Other big sales for Trapeze Artist were colts from Viviette (IRE) and Natchwhali (NZ) that made $650,000 and $600,000.
From a service fee of $24,750, Written By proved a very profitable sire for his supporters with his best result the $410,000 colt offered by Widden Stud from The Messina Nymph that was bought by Bjorn Baker Racing/Clarke Bloodstock Pty Ltd (FBAA)/Cunningham Thoroughbreds.
Written By had four more yearlings sell for upwards of $300,000 bought by China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock/Trilogy Racing, Star Thoroughbreds, Australian Bloodstock and Mick Wallace as agent for Freedman Brothers, so they will all go into leading stables.
