Trapeze Artist Filly Trials in Style
Widden Stud’s Trapeze Artist has been enjoying a breakout season with three stakes-winning juvenile fillies in Spicy Miss, Chilly Girl and Where’s the Circus – with one of them trialling in impressive fashion on Friday.
Where’s the Circus was a fairytale result when winning the $400,000 Inglis Nursery on debut back in December and she stepped out at the Kembla trials for the first time since finishing unplaced in the $2million Inglis Millennium after leading until well into the straight.
She was bumped heavily by the ultimate winner Fireball shortly after jumping on that occasion and as a result over-raced in the lead which contributed to her weakening at the finish, but she looked bright and sharp in her trial today.
Ridden by Jean Van Overmeire, Where’s the Circus jumped fast and surged to the front out wide and was soft to the line to win the 800m heat by a couple of lengths.
Impressive 1st trial back for this promising 2YO.
