Sebring Colt Goes Two for Two
Leading trainer Mick Price is going to have a “look see” into the pedigree of promising Sebring two year-old Yu Long Sheng Hui who appears Caulfield Guineas bound after another win on Saturday.
Highlighted as a Breednet ‘One To Follow’ after cruising to a six length debut win at Wodonga on June 14, Yu Long Sheng Hui made it two wins from two starts when a narrow but impressive winner at Caulfield.
Price admitted to some concern about his greenness when labelling the colt a horse of some promise but will spell him immediately with the bigger spring races in mind now.
“He’s an interesting colt, he’s pretty green and he did so much wrong in that race,” Price said.
“It’s a bit of a worry because I don’t have more time to keep racing him.
“Physically, he could run on but if you want them in the spring, you have got to do your timing.
“I’ll have to have a bit of a look-see into his pedigree and get a better feel for him. But the two Group Ones for three-year-olds are the Caulfield Guineas and the Coolmore (Stud Stakes).”
Yu Long Sheng Hui was a $140,000 purchase from the Magic Millions Horses in Training Sale from the Washpool Lodge draft and races in the ownership of Yu Long Investments, who have invested heavily in Australian bloodstock recently.
He is a half-brother to stakes-placed Crime Fighter, and fifth winner for Quite Name (IRE), who comes from the family of US Group I winners Dare and Go and Go Deputy.
Sebring made it a two state metro winning double when progressive three year-old Pioneering won at Rosehill for Chris Waller and Star Thoroughbreds.
