Your Song Colt Stars at Perth Magic Millions
A colt from the first crop of our exciting young sire Your Song fetched $135,000 at the Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Monday to be the equal highest priced offering of the session.
The half-brother to recent Magic Millions Western Australian 2YO Classic winner The River and stakes-placed Jestpatim was sold to Trevor Andrews.
The colt from good producer Jestceny was offered by Western Breeders Alliance and will join the same stable at The River who is now heading to the Group II WATC Karrakatta Plate after his rich win at Pinjarra just over a week ago.
“He’s obviously pretty attractive because we’ve got the half brother and I like quite a few lots late tomorrow so I thought I better strike early otherwise I could miss out on a couple of the others,” Andrews said.
“He’s an easy horse to sell. I’ve pretty much got him sold now. He’ll be an up and running style Magic Millions horse for next year and I’m pleased to get hold of him.”
Also selling well on Monday was the Sebring colt from NZ bred Group III winner Madame Shinko that made $120,000 for Amelia Park Racing and Breeding when snapped up by Morton Racing.
“I just thought he was a cracking colt,” trainer Danny Morton said.
“He’s off a good farm and we were trying to buy horses like that at the Gold Coast a few weeks ago and we couldn’t get near them, so I’m happy to have him.
“He’s all there. Sebring is a superstar sire and he’s a real athlete and he’s very well grown already. He’s just going to make into a lovely athletic style of horse.”
