Widden Stud Announce 2017 Fees
Widden Stud are pleased to announce service fees for 2017 on our top class roster of proven and promising sires with real value for breeders seeking the best outcome from their mares.
Flagship sire Sebring heads the roster at $66,000 and is fresh from sale ring success at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale having posted his first seven figure yearling with a colt from Stellar Vinnia selling for $1.4 million.
His Inglis Easter average of $339,800 demonstrates Sebring’s position as an elite stallion for the racetrack and sale ring.
Star Witness has soared to new heights this season with serious Group I horses Global Glamour and Star Turn as well as stakes-winners Fuhryk and Lycurgus. His fee rises to $33,000 on the back of his overwhelming success.
Priced at $22,000, Cox Plate and Australian Guineas hero Shamus Award has enjoyed strong results in the sale ring with his first crop yearlings selling for up to $425,000. As the best son of his outstanding sire Snitzel, we look forward to seeing his two year-olds step out in the new season.
Your Song is a clear leader on the Australian First Season Sires list with seven winners headed by his smart stakes-winner Split Lip. With the all-important ‘runs on the board’, he will be a popular choice this spring at a fee of $22,000.
Nicconi was the busiest sire in Australia last season and a landslide of winners including five stakes-winners this season will ensure he covers another big book this year at a fee of $16,500.
Stratum’s dual Group I winner Stratum Star is new to the roster and we are so thrilled to have him come back to Widden where he was foaled and raised.
This is a horse whose character and ability has been tested to the extreme and he’s come up trumps. There’s no if’s, but’s or maybe’s with this horse, he stands on his record and it’s a good one. There is no need to speculate on what he might have done, when we can all see what he has done.
Standing at $11,000, Stratum Star is the sort of horse we would all love to breed and is priced at a level so that people can breed to him with confidence.
A full brother to Golden Slipper winner Overreach, Outreach remains at a fee of $7,700 and proved popular last year. The arrival of his first foals this spring is something we look forward to.
