Hawkesbury Double for Sebring
Exciting young sire Sebring featured at Hawkesbury on Thursday with a winning double courtesy of Aztec Rose and My Last Fling.
The Gai Waterhouse trained Aztec Rose flew home late to snatch a nose win in the 1500 metre maiden, ending a frustrating run of minor placings.
Passed in at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale by Bell View Park Stud, Aztec Rose runs for Bell View Park and partners and has won over $44,000 in prizemoney.
She is the second foal of Group II winning Encosta de Lago mare Dream the Dream.
Making it a double for Sebring was the Darren Smith trained My Last Fling, who broke her maiden last start at Newcastle and backed up quickly to take this Class 1 event by a length and three-quarters in a dominant display.
My Last Flame was also passed in as a yearling and is bred on the same cross as Aztec Rose being the first winner for Encosta de Lago mare Latest Flame, a daughter of stakes-winner After Beune.
Golden Slipper winner Sebring is covering a full book at Widden Stud this spring.
