Brilliant Debut Win for Sensibility

Peter Moody is a great judge of a yearling and when his wife is listed as the sole owner of a horse, you might be entitled to think this one will be above average.

A $260,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Widden Stud for Moody Racing, three year-old Redoute’s Choice filly Sensibility kicked off her career with a stylish win at Mornington on Thursday.

Eased back from a wide draw by Luke Nolen, she was the widest runner around the home turn and powered to the line to surge clear and win the 1227 metre maiden by more than a length.

Sensibility holds an entry for the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas so is obviously well thought of by her trainer.

Bred by Widden Stud and Robert Anderson, Sensibility is a three-quarter sister to Group II VRC Sires Produce Stakes winner Running Tall and half-sister to stakes-placed Ephemera, being the third winner from three foals to race for blue-blooded import Fleeting Touch (USA).

An unraced daughter of Touch Gold, Fleeting Touch is a sibling to US Champion 2YO Midshipman and Group II winner Fast Cookie.

Fleeting Touch produced another colt by Redoute’s Choice last year and is in foal to More Than Ready (USA).
