Back to Back Stakes Wins for Magnus Mare
The five-year-old Magnus mare How’s The Serenity goes from strength to strength, making it back-to-back Listed stakes wins with a bloodless victory in Saturday’s WATC Miss Andretti Stakes (1100m) at Ascot.
Ridden by Holly Watson for Simon Miller, How’s The Serenity defeated Express Time by a length and a half.
Miller has a fantastic record in the race, winning with Power Princess (2012), Hussy By Choice (2014) and Caipirinha (2018), Valour Road (2020), Flirtini (2021), and Miss Conteki (2022).
Simon Miller said he hopes How’s The Serenity can earn a slot in the inaugural $4,000,000 The Quokka on April 15.
How’s the Serenity has the overall record of nine wins and six placings from 21 starts with prizemoney topping $457,000.
She was a $40,000 Magic Millions Perth purchase from the Scenic Lodge draft for her trainer, who is no doubt a fan of the progeny of Magnus having worked as foreman for Robbie Griffiths in years gone by.
Griffiths has a great record with the progeny of Magnus and has trained several of his stakes-winners including Prettyhappyaboutit, Halvorsen and King Magnus along with many other metro winners by the ever popular veteran sire.
How’s the Serenity is the best of three winners from stakes-placed Sweet Serenity, a half-sister to stakes-winner Private Dancer.
