Magic Success for Widden Stud

Widden Stud finished a record breaking 2023 Magic Millions Yearling Sale on a high selling 41 yearlings in Book 1 for $11,985,000.

Our top seller was also the highest priced filly of the sale with our glorious Zoustar filly from Solar Charged selling for $2.6million. The full sister to Sunlight and to the $3million colt that topped Inglis Easter last year, she was purchased by Yulong.

Zoustar had an exceptional sale with 30 yearlings averaging $628,667 with five yearlings selling for $1million or more.

Zoustar’s exciting son Zousain was also in hot demand with 25 yearlings averaging $228,800.

Our highest priced colt was also the highest priced yearling of the sale by Trapeze Artist with his colt from Secret Trail fetching $520,000 when purchased by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/Group 1 Bloodstock.

The second crop of yearlings by Written By were also popular with 11 averaging $172,727 and his top seller was a colt from Maryore that made $280,000 for Attunga Stud when bought by Darby Racing/Deburgh Equine.

Nicconi had his supporters as always with eight yearlings averaging $150,000 and his top seller was a filly from Fairly Feline that made $360,000 for Amarina Farm when bought by Astute Bloodstock (FBAA)/Ciaron Maher Bloodstock.
