Black Type for Sebring Siblings
Two full siblings by Sebring from Bashaayer both earned Black Type last weekend, with Mount Panorama and Egypt both giving promise of better things to come.
Prepared by Team Hawkes, two year-old colt Mount Panorama ran home well for third at Rosehill in the Group II ATC Silver Slipper behind boom colt Astern and highly promising Defcon.
A $140,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Lyndhurst Stud draft, Mount Panorama has stakes placed twice from his only three starts and is entered for the Group I ATC Golden Slipper and Sires’ Produce Stakes.
Mark Kavanagh’s improving three year-old filly Egypt has been racing well in lesser grades and acquitted herself well when finishing second to Don’t Doubt Mamma in the Group III VRC The Vanity over 1400 metres at Flemington.
It was her first try at Black Type company and a stakes win looks well within her scope.
A $120,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Lyndhurst Stud draft, Egypt has two wins and three placings from eight starts with some $70,000 and change in prizemoney.
Another Sebring with stakes goals on the horizon is the Mike Moroney trained three year-old colt Tulsa, who charged home from back in the field to finish third to stablemate Tivaci in the Group III VRC Colin Hayes Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.
Luckless in stakes races last spring, Tulsa may well find his turn to shine in coming months.
