Brave Win for All The Talk
Sydney – Fresh from siring a new Group I winner on Friday in the shape of Levin Classic winner Southern Lord, Stratum was back in top form again on Saturday producing All The Talk, a courageous winner of the open juvenile event at Warwick Farm.
The Gary Portelli trained colt finished a good third to highly rated youngster Charlie Boy on debut and showed the benefit of race experience this time around, jumping smartly to spear across and lead before holding off a fast finish from Napayshini to win by a long head.
“He had to be used up to get across to the fence, but that’s where he won the race,” said Portelli.
“We’ll probably tip him out now so he can strengthen up.”
Bred by Teeley Assets, All the Talk was a $40,000 purchase for Elite Thoroughbreds from the Widden Stud draft at the 2012 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale and is a full brother to another handy winner in Straturbo, who was second at Canterbury last night and is also raced by Elite Thoroughbreds.
All the Talk is from Weekend Gossip, a half-sister by Hussonet (USA) to triple Group I winner Mentality.
