Dynamic New Winner for Northern Meteor
Our red hot young sire Northern Meteor added a 13th Australian winner to his tally when the Peter Moody trained Repartee saluted on debut at Ballarat on Sunday.
Sent out favourite and partnered by Luke Nolen, Repartee jumped well and travelled just behind the leaders before accelerating three wide down the running to chime in and take the 1100 metre maiden by three-quarters of a length.
A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase for Dynamic Syndications from the draft of Rheinwood Pastoral, Repartee is the second winner for Comedy Club, a half-sister by Perugino (USA) to stakes-winner Belveeka from the family of Golden Slipper winner Overreach and Blue Diamond winner Reward for Effort.
Repartee is the 13th Australian first crop winner for record breaking sprinter Northern Meteor, who also sired a winner in Singapore on Friday in The Omega Man to give him 14 first crop winners in total, seven of them stakes performers.
Northern Meteor is the leading first season sire by Australian winners holding a one winner margin over his barn mate Sebring on 12 winners.
The Group I winning son of Encosta de Lago stands this spring at a fee of $27,500.
