First Win for Sebring Blueblood

 In 2014

As a three-quarter brother to Golden Slipper winner and Magic Millions hero Phelan Ready, Pont Royale might have been expected to fire early, but at age four he won his first race at Bendigo on Wednesday.

Prepared by Aaron Purcell, Pont Royale improved on his debut fourth at Warrnambool last month to take the 1400 metre maiden by a short half head in a blanket finish at his second start.

A big strong gelding by outstanding young sire Sebring, Pont Royale still has a lot to learn, so will be all the better for the outing.

Consigned by Widden Stud to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Pont Royale passed in shy of his $200, 000 reserve and was retained to race by his breeder.

The second winner for his dam Nancy Eleanor, he is a three-quarter brother to $3.7 million earner Phelan Ready, who is by Sebring’s sire more Than Ready (USA).
