First Winner for Written By and First Stakes Horse Trapeze Artist
Written Tycoon’s Group I Blue Diamond winning son Written By has broken the ice for his first winner and it was a super impressive winner trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
The Novelist looked good in a recent trial and backed it up on race day making his debut at Kembla on Saturday and blitzing the opposition to win as he pleased.
With the Inglis sold juveniles taking centre stage at Randwick thanks to the $500,000 Inglis Nursery, the 1000m juvenile maiden looked a suitable option for the talented colt and he scorched the turf to run 56.66 seconds winning by five lengths.
The Novelist wins by 5 on debut! He’s a sharp colt, beautifully prepared by @GaiWaterhouse1 and Adrian Bott.

A $110,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Glenlogan Park draft for Tricolours Racing & Syndications Pty Ltd/Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, The Novelist has a big all women ownership group.
The Novelist is the first winner from two time 1000m Snitzel winner Sunlit, a half-sister to fast Group II winning juvenile Vo Heart.
Written By has 19 entries for Magic Millions and 22 for Inglis Classic.
Trapeze Artist went desperately close to posting his first stakes-winner when exciting filly Facile went down narrowly on debut in the $500,000 Inglis Nursery behind Saltaire, who had the benefit of race experience.

The Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou trained Facile had been a star performer at the barrier trials and ran right up to that form.
She led for home and was just worried out of the prize late, but gave plenty under pressure at her first start.
Trapeze Artist has 22 entries for Magic Millions and 17 for Inglis Classic.
