Hat-Trick for Golden Sunshine
Sydney – Talented three year-old filly Golden Sunshine maintained her unbeaten record when scoring a stylish victory at Rosehill on Saturday providing a great pedigree update for her yearling half-sister by Snitzel that will be offered by Widden Stud at the 2013 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
The Rick Worthington trained daughter of Danzero saluted at Wyong on debut last month before winning again at Warwick Farm on November 10, but was a market drifter for this assignment in which she took on colts for the first time.
She showed all her customary dash to lead for Peter Robl, finding the line strongly to win by a length and a half to make it three wins in as many starts with prizemoney in excess of $150,000.
“I thought she was good enough to win today and her last piece of work was her best yet,” said Worthington.
“The key is keeping her happy and so far, so good. She’ll be on a truck to Goulburn tomorrow to go for a spell on the Southern Highlands and we can regroup in the autumn.”
A $65,000 purchase for her trainer from the Widden draft at the 2011 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Golden Sunshine was bred by Grant Briscoe and is bred to go fast being the first winner from Cloudwing, a daughter of former brilliant stakes-winning filly Cloudlet from the family of Magic Millions winner Zephyrz and Group II winning sprinter Athelnoth.
Cloudwing has already foaled this spring producing a colt by Stratum on August 28 and has a yearling filly by Snitzel that will be offered by Widden Stud as Lot 195 at the 2013 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
