Impressive Debut Winner for Northern Meteor
Leading trainer Chris Waller and champion jockey Jim Cassidy combined to provide Northern Meteor with another smart winner when two year-old colt Zoustar won easily on debut at Canterbury on Wednesday.
He settled fourth from barrier one and powered clear to take the 1100 metre maiden by a length and three-quarters.
Zoustar was a $140,000 Magic Millions purchase for Iskander Racing from the Kulani Park draft and is the first winner for Zou Zou, a winning half-sister by Redoute’s Choice to stakes-placed Crestfallen and to the dam of Group II winner Dusty Star.
Zoustar is the seventh winner for record breaking Group I winner Northern Meteor, whose fee for 2013 has been set at $27,500.
