Narrow Miss for Northern Meteor
Adelaide – While Sebring sired the winner of the Listed SAJC Sportingbet Stakes at Morphettville on Monday, our other young gun sire Northern Meteor was also in good form with his promising gelding The Voice missing narrowly in the $100,000 Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic.
Prepared by Tony McEvoy, as was Sebring’s earlier stakes-winner Bring a Ring, The Voice charged home from back in the field to run race favourite Charles in Charge to a long neck in the 1200 metre contest.
The Voice was resuming from a spell and has finished second at each of his two starts to date so a win cannot be far off.
A $170,000 Magic Millions purchase for McEvoy Mitchell Racing from the Glastonbury Farm draft, The Voice is a half-brother to stakes-placed Rock Band from Ceol Na Sraide (IRE), a half-sister to Group III winner Al Samer from the family of champion sire Danehill.
