Oaks Contender for Sebring
The Group I BRC Queensland Oaks is looming on the horizon for promising Sebring filly Sebrina, who scored a stylish victory at Warwick Farm on Wednesday for the Bjorn Baker stable.
A good last start third in the Group III ATC JB Carr Stakes at Randwick, Sebrina was sent out favourite for this Benchmark 70 event over 1600 metres and carried 57 kg to a dominant length victory.
“She has been a bit behind where I wanted her this campaign, so it is fortuitous that the Oaks is back to 2200-metres this year,” Baker said.
“That was a good test with the weight today.”
Sebrina was a $40,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase for Prestige Thoroughbreds from the Fig Tree Thoroughbreds draft and has a huge team of owners to cheer her on.
She is the best of three winners from Group III winning Beautiful Crown (USA) mare Crown Princess.
