Sydney – The Prime Thoroughbreds team were in the winner’s circle at Canterbury on Wednesday with fast finishing Stratum mare Rose of Scotland.

Prepared by Kris Lees, Rose of Scotland flew home over the last furlong to snatch a half-length win in the Benchmark 75 event over 1250 metres, her overall record now five wins from 21 starst with prizemoney just shy of $150,000.

“They went fast which suited her and now we’ll look for a Saturday race for her,” said Lees.

A $47,500 purchase for Prime Thoroughbreds from the Kambula Stud draft at the Adelaide Magic Millions, Rose of Scotland is one of two winners from Encosta de Lago mare Ares de Lago, who comes from the family of Group I winner Mnemosyne.

Stratum also featured on Wednesday at Caulfield where his talented daughter Mabsam ran a good third in the Listed MRC Tech Classic.
