Razeena Breaks The Ice

Melbourne, August 26 – Leading trainer David Hayes produced a smart winner at Seymour on Sunday by in form sire Exceed and Excel.

Three year-old filly Razeena revelled in the heavy conditions, powering clear to win the 1000 metre maiden by two and three-quarter lengths.

Placed at two of her three previous starts, Razeena was overdue to post the win.

A $260,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell Australia from the Widden Stud draft, Razeena is a three-quarter sister to stakes-placed Multahem and is the second winner from blue blooded import Earthsea (Fr).

A half-sister by Machiavellian to Group I winners Dolphin Street, Insight and Saffron Walden, Earthsea is due to foal to Stratum this spring.
