Record Breaking Return for Sebring Filly
Talented Sebring filly Whiskey Shooter won on debut at Canterbury in January and was so impressive she was immediately dispatched to the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic won by Sunlight – not sighted since then she reappeared at Randwick today.
Well tuned for her return by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott with three barrier trials, Whiskey Shooter was easy in the market, but proved far too good.
Burdened with 60kg, she was ridden forward by Tim Clark and scored a length win in the 1100 metre Benchmark 64 event setting a new record for the Kensington track.
Whiskey Shooter will target the rich Brisbane Summer Carnival with a return to the Gold Coast for Magic Millions day her main target.
A $180,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainers and Blue Sky Bloodstock from the Coolmore draft, Whiskey Shooter is one of four winners for Group II winning Encosta de Lago mare Rocha, a daughter of Group I South Australian Oaks winner Larrocha.
It’s also the family of Group I winner and Champion WA Sire Blackfriars, who died last year.
