Second Winner for Northern Meteor
Record breaking sprinter Northern Meteor posted his second winner at Kembla on Saturday with the Gai Waterhouse trained first starter Northern Glory running her rivals ragged.
The filly was partnered by Neil Paine and sent out a short priced favourite from barrier one and never looked in doubt as she cruised home to win the 1000 metre maiden by three and a quarter lengths.
Northern Glory was a $50,000 purchase for Gai Waterhouse and James Harron Bloodstock from the Royston Stud draft at the 2012 Magic Millions.
She is the first winner for Viscount mare Cliantha, a daughter of Group II winner Seika, who is a half-sister to Group I winner Sports.
Northern Glory is the second winner from just six starters for Northern Meteor, who has 25 entries in the 2013 Magic Millions on the Gold Coast including the half-brother to spring Group I winner Nechita from Artistique.
