Sold By Widden and Winning
Brisbane- The metropolitan meeting at Doomben on Wednesday featured a couple of smart winners sold by Widden Stud in Pure Purrfection and Peron, whose half-sister is headed for Inglis Easter.
The Tony Gollan trained Pure Purrfection resumed from a spell to win the Class Five event over 1020 metres and has the imposing record of four wins from nine starts with prizemoney in excess of $63,000.
A four year-old mare by General Nediym, Pure Purrfection was a $160,000 purchase for Colin McAlpine from the Widden Stud draft at the 2010 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
Pure Purrfection is a half-sister to stakes-winner Global Warming from stakes-winner She’s Purring.
Saluting later in the day was three year-old Husson (Arg) filly Peron, who scored a dominant win in the Class Three event over 1350 metres and is now unbeaten in winning each of her three starts to date.
Peron was purchased by Patinack Farm for $80,000 from the Widden draft at the 2011 Magic Millions and is a half-sister to Group I placed stakes-winner Gai’s Choice being one of three winners from stakes-placed Faster Pussycat.
The current yearling from Faster Pussycat is a filly by Northern Meteor that will be offered by Widden Stud as Lot 104 at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale next month.
