Stakes Success for Widden Sold Testarhythm
Gosford – The Darren Smith trained Testarhythm scored the biggest win of his career at Gosford on Thursday when taking out the Listed Takeover Target Stakes over 1200 metres.
The five year-old gelding found his best form last start with a good win at Canterbury and went right on with it in this tougher assignment cruising clear to win by a length and a half.
A $110,000 purchase for his trainer from the Widden draft at the 2009 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Testarhythm has won five races from 15 starts and more than $310,000 in prizemoney.
He is by Testa Rossa from stakes-placed Dancing Bridges (NZ), a half-sister to Group II winner Te Akau Rose and to the dam of this season’s stakes-winner Cavalry Rose.
