Stratum Blue-Blood Salutes
David and Jenny Moodie of Contract Racing have bred a lot of good horses, but none better than ill-fated Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily and it was her three-quarter brother that caught the eye of good judges when racing to an impressive victory at Kyneton on Thursday.
Trained by Matt Ellerton and Simon Zahra, three year-old Stratum gelding Crystal Dreamer opened his account with a dominant five length win in the 1200 metre maiden as favourite.
Second on debut at Mornington last month, Crystal Dreamer overcame a wide draw to lead all the way and win as he pleased.
Another smart winner for Stratum, Crystal Dreamer is a half-brother to stakes-placed Fast Talker and is the fourth winner from stakes-winner Crystal Wit, a sibling to Crystal Lily as well as stakes-winners Amaethon and Crystal Web.
