Stratum Juvenile Winner in Perth
Perth – Widden sires were in good form with their two year-olds on Saturday, Sebring siring Blue Diamond Preview winner Dissident , Northern Meteor siring Swing Vote and Mount Zero to finish third and fourth in the fillies Blue Diamond Preview, while Stratum posted a stylish winner in Perth in Walkover.
Prepared by Neville Parnham, Walkover showed the benefit of race experience to improve on his last start third, leading throughout to surge clear and win the 1100 metre dash at Ascot by a length.
Walkover was a $55,000 purchase for his trainer from the Southern Cross Breeders draft at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale Session II.
Walkover is a half-sister to two other winners from stakes-placed Vettori (IRE) mare Vetorisc, a half-sister to Group III winner Say Magic.
Vetorisc hasn’t had a foal since Walkover, but was covered by Star Witness last spring.
