Top Priced Sebring Breaks Maiden
The most expensive yearling by Sebring sold in 2014 was the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig trained gelding Edraak, who opened his account at Geelong on Sunday.
Second on debut at Mornington on November 1, Edraak showed the benefit of race experience to score a half neck win over 1300 metres.
Edraak settled midfield on the fence from barrier one and charged home along the inside to score his first win.
Bred and offered for sale by Turangga Farm, Edraak made $475,000 at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when bought by Shadwell Australia.
A full brother to former brilliant Group II winning filly Believe Yourself, who was fourth in the Golden Slipper, Edraak is the third winner for Private, a half-sister by Encosta de Lago to stakes-winners Tully Dane and Mygoodgrace.
