Vale Whobegotyou

 In 2012

Racing has lost a much loved competitor with news that dual Group I winner Whobegotyou has been laid to rest.

The son of Street Cry (IRE) had been a spring carnival fixture in every season since 2008 when he shot to fame as the winner of the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas.

The Mark Kavanagh trained gelding went on to win 10 races from 29 starts earning a whopping $3.2 million for owner Laurence Eales and his family, who purchased their star for a modest $19,500 from the Widden Stud draft at the 2007 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Bred by David O’Keeffe of Lockyer Thoroughbreds and foaled and raised at Widden, Whobegotyou has been buried at the Eales family farm at Sunbury… It’s been a life well lived.

All at Widden offer our condolences to Laurence Eales and his family.
