Widden Graduate Wins Stakes
Wyong – It’s taken a while for talented Fastnet Rock mare Impetuous to unleash her full potential, but she did so at Wyong on Friday winning the Listed Mona Lisa Stakes with a commanding performance.
Easy in the market at her first run back from a spell, the Clarry Conners trained mare proved far too good in dashing away to win the 1350 metre contest by more than two lengths.
She now has the overall record of three wins from 11 starts with prizemoney topping $124,000 and looks to have come back from her break a much improved racehorse.
A $600,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Widden draft for James Harron/De Burgh Equine on behalf of Dr Edmund Bateman, Impetuous was the equal most expensive filly by Fastnet Rock sold in 2011.
She was bred by Murray Murdoch of Fig Tree Thoroughbreds and is the first foal of stakes-placed Rash Promise, a half-sister to Group I winner Demerger from the family of champion filly Triscay.
