Widden Stud and partners were active at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on Tuesday signing for five lovely young mares off the track in Sicilian (I Am Invincible), I’mLovin’Ya (Capitalist), Aitch Two Oh (Headwater), Pure Paradise (Capitalist)and Aditi (Exceed and Excel).

The most expensive of the group at $900,000 was Group III placed I Am Invincible filly Sicilian, a precocious juvenile winner at two that was a $650,000 Magic Millions yearling purchase for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

Sicilian has a solid Black Type family that has also produced dual Group I winner She’s Extreme, who sold for $3.4million at the Inglis chairman’s Sale this year.

“We bought her in partnership with Steve Bacon and Murray Murdoch, who actually raced her, in the Valerie Syndicate, so obviously they’ve had a huge thrill selling Platinum Jubilee,” Widden’s Antony Thompson said.

“This was a filly that we loved on physical and we thought she’d be ideal for Zoustar. Steve and Murray were very keen to stay involved, so they’ve increased their stake along with some other clients of ours who have come in.”

Widden Stud have had a lot of luck in recent times purchasing young speed stakes-winning mares to visit their champion sire Zoustar and I’mlovin’ya fits the profile and was duly snapped up for $650,000.

The half-sister by Capitalist to Group III winner Immortal Love from stakes-winner Loveyamadly, I’mLovin’ya was bred and raced by United Syndications and won two Listed races from just nine starts for the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr stable.

Consigned by Sledmere Stud, I’mlovin’ya comes from a super fast and running family with grand-dam Beauty World producing nine winners from 11 to race headed by five stakes-winners – Lite in in my Veins, Written Beauty, How Word, Loveyamadly and Ducimus – and two more stakes-placed horses.

Zoustar will be happy to see these girls!
