A record breaking Inglis Classic Yearling Sale this week in Sydney delivered more great results for Widden Stud with 42 yearlings selling for $4,560,500.

Star Witness gave us our best result with the Widden Stud bred colt from winning Snitzel mare Bukzel fetching $320,000 when secured by George Moore Bloodstock.

A half-sister to Group III placed Lucky Eighty Eight, Bukzel comes from the Nasmah branch of the Easy Date family that has produced Group I winners Rewaaya and Sense of Occasion.

She produced a gorgeous filly by Zousain last spring and was one of 136 mares covered at Widden stud Victoria last spring by our young gun Russian Camelot (IRE).

The first yearlings by Trapeze Artist were a huge hit at Classic with 17 selling for $2,860,000 at an average $168,235 with his best result the Vinery Stud consigned filly from Zelady’s Night Out bought by Suman Hedge for $430,000.

Written By also made a big impact with 17 yearlings selling for $2,041,000 at an average $120,059 with four of his youngsters selling for $200,000 or more.

His top seller was the colt from Tinto Fino that made $280,000 for Goodwood Farm when bought by Mick Wallace/ Freedman Brothers.

Widden Stud will head next to Victoria for Inglis Premier with a big draft of 40, click here to see them.
