Your Song Ready for Stradbroke
Poised to retired to Widden Stud after this weekend to embark on a stud career, high class Fastnet Rock colt Your Song is fit and firing in preparation for his swansong performance in the Group I BRC Stradbroke Handicap this Saturday.
Trainer Anthony Cummings says all is in order with Your Song, who went through his paces at Eagle Farm on Tuesday morning with race jockey Peter Robl in the saddle.
“His work was good,” Cummings told Racenet. “He worked over about six furlongs in the blinkers.
“He doesn’t concentrate without them and even in then he’s still very relaxed.
“Peter Robl rode him and he was happy with what he did saying, ‘He’s on song’.”
Cummings focus for Your Song has moved to Wednesday saying, “All we can do now is worry about the barrier and see what comes from that.”
A homebred for Gooree Stud, Your Song posted an explosive five length victory in the Group I BRC BTC Cup before falling victim to a wide barrier when finishing sixth in the BRC Doomben 10,000 and will be looking to bow out on a high.
