Zoustar Filly Honoured at Cartier European Horse of the Year Awards
Baaeed took the top honours at the 32nd Cartier Racing Awards when crowned Horse of the Year and Older Horse of the Year at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Wednesday evening with Zoustar filly Lezoo crowned Champion 2YO Filly.
Champion 2YO Filly Lezoo comes from the first Northern Hemisphere crop of foals by Widden Stud’s champion sire Zoustar, who has sired 14 winners in Europe this year.
Trained by Ralph Beckett, Lezoo had five starts for four wins and a second with the Group I Cheveley Park Stakes (6f) her highlight win.
Zoustar has another outstanding crop of yearlings destined for sales in Australia in 2023 starting at Magic Millions where he has 39 entries highlighted by the full sister to his Champion Australian Filly Sunlight.
To be offered by Widden Stud as Lot 399, the filly from Solar Charged is also a full sibling to the colt that topped Inglis Easter earlier this year when selling for $3million to be the highest priced yearling sold in Australasia in 2022.
Congratulations @mmsnippets on the release of an exciting 2023 GC Yearling catalogue.
We look forward to presenting a cracking draft of 48 yearlings including the full sister to Sunlight as lot 399 Zoustar x Solar Charged#Queen #ValleyOfChampions pic.twitter.com/H0bDMPcQ0v— Widden (@widdenstud) November 9, 2022
