First Winner for Nicconi
Explosive sprinter Nicconi is off the mark with his first winner after promising two year-old filly Hashtag Noidea scored a strong debut win at Coffs Harbour on Sunday.
Prepared at Port Macquarie by Anthony Dable, Hashtag Noidea was sent out favourite after winning a recent barrier trial and ran up to that performance in striding clear to win the 810 metre maiden by more than a length.
Hashtag Noidea is the second winner for Issey, a half-sister by Encosta de Lago to Group II winner Star of Giselle from stakes-winner Princesa, a daughter of Group I winner Kapchat.
Issey foaled again to Nicconi last year producing another filly.
Nicconi had some good results at Magic Millions with a colt from Divine Choice fetching $150,000 for Widden Stud when purchased by Jadeskye Racing and a colt from Ancient Titles making $100,000 for Murrulla Stud when secured by Medallion Thoroughbreds.
Nicconi will be a prominent player at the upcoming Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in Sydney where he has 17 yearlings catalogued.
