The highest priced colt sold at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on Sunday was the Baramul Stud consigned Zoustar colt from Grandstraand that made $500,000.

Purchased by Grenville Stud, who have had an outstanding year with their pinhook purchases at the yearling sales, the colt comes with an impressive pedigree.

He is the first foal of unraced I Am Invincible mare Grandstraand, a daughter of Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate winner Mrs Onassis from the family of top class Group winning fillies Passive Aggressive and Missrock.

“He was certainly the horse we wanted,” Grenville’s Bart McCulloch noted. “Quality horses like that, you have to expect to pay for them.”

“He’s a Zoustar and he’s a standout type. They are the sort of horses you are wanting to be taking to sales that everyone is going to love.”

“We think he’s a lovely horse and a great investment. We saw him on the first day of inspections and really loved him.”

The only other Zoustar weanling in the sale was a colt from Ponca that was offered by Aristia Park and also purchased by Grenville Stud for $200,000.
