Another Sebring Blueblood Salutes
Fresh from a Group I victory on Saturday for his star four year-old son Dissident, Sebring was in a winning vein on Sunday with well bred filly Tahni Dancer casting off maiden status at Cranbourne.
Slowly away at her previous start when third behind subsequent Listed winner Afleet Esprit at Moonee Valley, Tahni Dancer was more professional this time around finding the line well for Glen Boss to take the 1200 metre maiden by a short neck.
Prepared by Clinton McDonald, Tahni Dancer has had just the four starts, her first two coming in Group III events as a juvenile, so will no doubt be headed back towards better company in coming weeks now she has broken the ice.
A $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Tyreel Stud draft for her trainer and Ferrari Racing, Tahni Dancer was the most expensive yearling by Sebring sold in 2013.
Bred by Dean Fleming, who retains a share in her ownership, Tahni Dancer is a half-sister to Group III winner Maraschino and stakes-placed Dee Bee Nine being the third winner from three foals to race from Group III winning Redoute’s Choice mare Tahni Girl.
Also bred by Dean Fleming, Tahni Girl is a half-sister to Group II winner Just Dancing and HK stakes-winner and sire Hidden Dragon being from the Champion NZ 2YO Ballroom Babe.
