Another Smart Juvenile Winner for Sebring
Astute trainer Mick Price is heading to Brisbane this Saturday with unbeaten Sebring colt Pressing for the Group II BRC Sires Produce Stakes, but it was another two year-old by Sebring that had him in the winner’s circle at Geelong on Tuesday.
Progressive filly Sebring Lane improved from a last start second to take the 1100 metre maiden by half a length as a hot favourite.
A $130,000 Inglis Easter Session II purchase for her trainer from the Bylong Park Thoroughbreds draft, Sebring Lane is the third winner from Crimson Lane, a half-sister by Danehill (USA) to Group III winner Crimson Reign.
Sebring Lane is the eighth two year-old winner this season for Sebring, four of them stakes-winners in Bring Me The Maid, Believe Yourself, Clifton Red and Pressing, who we mentioned at the start of the story.
In a ground breaking season, Sebring has proven himself not only as a sire of brilliant juveniles as we expect of a Golden Slipper winner, but also of Classic three year-olds, his top class colts Dissident (Randwick Guineas) and Criterion (Rosehill Guineas, Australian Derby) capturing the Sydney Triple Crown.
