Brilliant South African Winner for Star Witness
Promising two year-old Star Witness filly Public Prosecutor opening her account with a commanding win at Kenwilworth in South Africa on Saturday.
She scored a dominant four and half length win as a short priced favourite over 1000 metres at her second start.
Trained by Candice Bass-Robinson, Public Prosecutor was a $120,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Golden Grove Stud draft for Heritage Bloodstock.
Bred by Golden Grove, she is the first foal of South African Group I winner Emblem of Liberty (SAfr), whose second foal, a filly by Shamus Award made $100,000 at Inglis Premier this year.
Sadly for Golden Grove Stud, Emblem of Liberty died last year and her last foal is a weanling colt, also by Shamus Award.
