Cup Winner for Sebring

 In 2014

A stakes-winner at Flemington back in April over 2400 metres, promising stayer Bring Something continued a hot winning run for popular trainer Ken Keys when taking out the Listed $250,000 Bendigo Cup on Wednesday.

A stablemate of star colt Rich Enuff, Bring Something produced a tenacious effort to win the 2400 metre staying test by half a head with Luke Nolen in the saddle.

“This bloke is still working his craft out,” Nolen said. “I probably hit the front at the furlong and probably gained a nice advantage.

“I had to get moving when I did because he does take a bit of stoking up but he appreciates a bit of room.

“He’s an exciting stayer going forward.”

A $30,000 Inglis Premier purchase for his trainer from the draft of Northern Lodge, Bring Something has won four times from 15 starts earning over $364,755 in prizemoney.

A lightly raced stayer on the up, Bring Something will now head towards the Group II VRC Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Flemington.

Bring Something is the first winner for Metellus, an unraced daughter of AJC Australian Derby winner Naturalism from Bolt of Lightning, a daughter of the great Denise’s Joy.

It’s a legendary family packed with Group I stars and has worked well with Sebring’s sire More Than Ready (USA) previously to produce champion mare More Joyous.

Sebring has emerged as one of the most desirable, versatile sires in the country with progeny excelling over all distances.
