Debut Win for Runway Star
She was the most expensive filly from the first crop of ill-fated Northern Meteor and she won on debut at Gosford on Sunday.
She is the Gerald Ryan trained Runway Star, who was sent out a very short priced favourite for the 1200 metre fillies and mares maiden and got the cash in scoring by a long neck with nearly five lengths back to the third horse.
Runway Star runs in the green and white Vinery colours and was a $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Belmont Bloodstock from the draft of Widden Stud.
Bred by Widden Stud and partners, Runway Star is the first foal of stakes-placed Commands mare Intuit, a daughter of Group I winner Wrap Around and half-sister to the dam of Champion 2YO Fashions Afield.
Intuit has a two year-old filly by Stratum, a yearling filly by Star Witness and was covered last spring by Sepoy.
