Smart Win for King’s Dance
Successful owner/breeder Bill Frost and his family enjoyed much success with Ballet Society and were back in the winner’s circle at Bendigo on Thursday with her talented three year-old son King’s Dance.
The Mick Price trained son of Redoute’s Choice failed to flatter in two runs on wet tracks in the spring, but showed his true potential when forging clear to win the 1300 metre maiden by the best part of a length at his first run back from a spell.
Foaled and raised at Widden Stud, King’s Dance is a half-brother to Group III placed The Fairy’s Kiss and is the second winner from just two foals to race from Stravinsky (USA) mare Ballet Society, who won six races and over $700,000 in prizemoney with highlight wins in the Group II VRC Kewney Stakes and MRC Angus Armanasco Stakes.
Ballet Society is a half-sister to dual Group I winner Cent Home and Group II winner Studebaker, so has pedigree as well as ability to help her in the breeding barn.
The current yearling from Ballet Society is a colt by Lonhro that will be offered as Lot 333 at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
