Stakes Second for Flamenco Girl
Finishing a close second in the Listed BRC Calaway Gal Stakes at Doomben on Saturday was Flamenco Girl, a $220,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden Stud draft.
Prepared by Danny Bougoure, the Snitzel filly was an easy debut winner at Sunshine Coast last month and missed by a half head in this tougher assignment, run down in the last stride by Liam Birchley’s runner Flamenco.
Bred by Widden Stud, Flamenco Girl is the first winner for stakes-placed Dance Girl Dance, a half-sister by Made of Gold (USA) to Group II winner Hollowlea.
Dance Girl Dance has a yearling filly by Stratum that will be headed to 2015 Inglis Easter.
