Star Witness Filly Second in Inglis Nursery
Talented Star Witness filly Kimberley Star went agonizingly close to providing her young sire with his first stakes-winner when she was narrowly beaten in the $250,000 Inglis Nursery RL at Randwick on Saturday.
Prepared by Gai Waterhouse, Kimberley Star was a close third on debut at Newcastle last month and came into this race off a winning trial at Randwick on December 1.
Kimberley Star hit the front down the running, but was caught on the line by Odyssey Moon, who got her measure by a neck.
A $40,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft for James Harron Bloodstock, Kimberley Star is the first winner for Kiss the Sun, an unraced half-sister by Anabaa (USA) to Group I winner Undoubtedly, Group II winner Regal Kiss and Group III winner Toorak Thunder.
Star Witness has 10 entries for Magic Millions and 27 for Inglis Classic.
