Stratum Fillies Star at MM Weanlings

Two beautiful fillies by our Golden Slipper winning sire Stratum were the top sellers for their sex during the first session of the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on Sunday.

Both consigned as part of the Teeley Reduction, the filly from Group III winning Encosta de Lago mare Precious Lorraine made $425,000 when bought by Arrowfield Stud and the filly from stakes-placed Encosta de Lago mare Quench the Thirst made $400,000 to the bid of New Zealand based Jamieson Park.

Both fillies are very closely related as their dams Precious Lorraine and Quench the Thirst are full sisters, their dam Group II placed Monsoon Wedding being a full sister to Redoute’s Choice.

The fillies feature an interesting line breeding pattern as they are by Stratum, who is of course by Redoute’s Choice.
