Stylish South African Winner for Sebring
Australian bred three year old Sebring filly Maayaat continued a great run of success in South Africa for Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell operation when scoring a stylish victory over older rivals at Turffontein on Sunday.
Prepared by Mike de Kock, Maayaat won by three-quarters of a length over 1400 metres as a short priced favourite at her second start.
A $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell Australia from the draft of Widden Stud, Maayaat is the first winner for Porto Cervo, a placed three-quarter sister by Danzero to stakes-winner Pinezero.
Porto Cervo has a two year-old colt by Star Witness and a yearling colt by Northern Meteor.
