Widden Graduate First to Salute on MM Day
The first race on Magic Millions day at the Gold Coast on Saturday was the $82,000 maiden event over 1200 metres with victory going to Snitzel filly Elle Lou, a $70,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden Stud draft.
Prepared by Hawkes Racing, the filly was able to overcome a wide gate under a great ride from James McDonald to win the rich maiden by two and a quarter lengths at her fifth start.
Elle Lou is the second winner for stakes-placed Snipify, whose yearling filly by Snitzel, a full sister to Elle Lou, will be offered by Widden Stud as Lot 619 during session four at Magic Millions later tonight.
