Your Song Foals Have Breeders Singing
Having retired to Widden as champion sire Fastnet Rock’s most dominant Group I winning son, Your Song was quickly inundated with support from breeders covering 167 mares.
One of the first to be born is this stunning bay colt from young stakes-winning mare Hoss Amor bred by well-known owner/breeder and syndicator Jason Abrahams.
Hoss Amor, a winner of over $425,000 and daughter of General Nediym foaled down at Yarraman Park with Harry Mitchell praising the colt, who is the first foal of his dam.
“He’s a good sized, well-marked, quality foal with a muscular hindquarter,” said Mitchell.
Against a quality opposition including Buffering, Spirit Of Boom and Sea Siren, the brilliantly fast Your Song won the 1200m Group I BTC Cup by a widening five lengths and produced the highest winning margin in a WFA Group I race run in season 2012-13.
“It is no surprise that Your Song is stamping his stock,” explains Widden Stud manager David Merrick.
“You often see good looking stallion’s….then you see Your Song! He’s just one out of the box. He’s physically one of the most impressive horses that I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my time.
“We have a couple of mares in foal to him in the foaling paddocks right now so we’re naturally excited to see what they produce in the next few days.
“Like black cats have black kittens, breeders can be confident that he is going to deliver genuine quality into his progeny and the Hoss Amor colt looks no exception.”
This foal appears to have all the good looks that have made his sire a popular choice for so many breeders, the charismatic son of Fastnet Rock priced again at $22,000.
