Narrow Miss for Chill Party

Improving Nicconi three year-old Chill Party narrowly missed posting his first Black Type success when finishing a close second in the Listed VRC TCL Stakes at Flemington on Oaks Day.

With two brilliant wins at Kyneton and Wangaratta at his first two runs back from a spell, Chill Party upped the ante again when charging home to beat all bar Petrology in the 1800 metre Listed event, going down by a head.

Nicconi also made an impression in the Group I VRC Oaks when his three year-old daughter Hipster Girl rattled home to finish fourth to Set Square as a rank outsider.

Given this performance, she won’t be a maiden for long!
